Djordje Petrovic, who made the move from Chelsea to Strasbourg on loan after struggling to secure a starting spot at Stamford Bridge, has become the undisputed first-choice goalkeeper for the Ligue 1 side. 

Since joining Strasbourg, Petrovic has started every single match for the club in Ligue 1. The 25-year-old goalkeeper feels that his time in France has been instrumental in his development, both in terms of his technical skills and his overall confidence on the pitch.

Petrovic spoke about his progress and ambitions, saying, “The experience at Strasbourg has helped me grow as a player. The coach encourages us to play out from the back, which has helped me become more confident with the ball at my feet. I’ve made progress, and I’m happy with my development. If the team qualifies for the Champions League next season, staying here would be the best decision for me.”

Chelsea’s Goalkeeper Dilemma and Petrovic’s Future

Chelsea’s goalkeeper situation has been far from ideal this season. Robert Sanchez, initially the first-choice keeper, has faced a series of disappointing performances and eventually lost his spot to Filip Jorgensen.
